Mississauga Mixed Recreational Slo-Pitch League

Site Maintenance

Hi Everyone!

Please be advised that the mmrsl.com website is being relocated to a new hosting provider and may look a little rough around the edges while we get content moved over.

If you are looking for league information and cannot find it during this maintenance, please email questions@mmrsl.com and we will get back to you within 24-48 hours.

Our apologies for any inconvenience caused.

2020 Season Cancelled

We regret to announce that the League Executive made the difficult decision to cancel the upcoming 2020 season.

Although efforts were made to pursue many possible options by the League in partnership with the Team Representatives and the City, the League Executive made the decision based on several factors including the health concerns and safety needs of all involved — member players, team representatives, umpires and fans (our families and friends). The decision also took into consideration member and team registrations, the uncertainty concerning COVID-19, provincial group gathering restrictions as well as the challenges of social distancing and personal protective guidelines.

The Executive understands and shares the disappointment this season for all involved. We look forward to playing again in 2021 and we hope for a season with no restrictions. We anticipate the registration and other League processes returning to normal, as they were last season. All teams and member players from the 2019 season will be given priority standing in the 2021 season including those who withdrew earlier this year.

It’s extremely unfortunate that all of us will not be able meet and share stories playing slo-pitch this summer.

Refunds will be sent for those who registered for the 2020 season and recent registrations will not be processed due to the cancellation of the season.

We truly appreciate your patience and understanding.

Thank you for your continued support. Please stay safe and healthy.

Warm regards on behalf of the entire Executive,
MMRSL President

COVID-19 April Update

The League Executives hope you and your families continue to be well and safe during these exceptional times.

The City let us know it is taking additional precautionary measures in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. All events requiring City permits are cancelled up to 03-Jul-20. This means the earliest opening day for the League will be 05-Jul-20. Please be aware that the City will continue to reassess the situation and determine if cancellations will go beyond 03-Jul-20. We will keep you posted on updates and changes as they become available. The full details of the City’s latest announcement may be viewed using this link: City Announcement.

Based on a potential start of the season being 05-Jul-20, the Team Representative Meeting is rescheduled for 20-May-20. The League Executives are evaluating the impacts of the news from the City and the effects on options for playing a modified Sunday night season. Field availability, dates of play, membership fees, as well as league numbers and structure are among the topics that will be reviewed by the Executives and the Team Representatives over the next couple of months.

Please also continue to check the League website for updates.

Wishing you and your families our best as we are all in this together,
MMRSL President

COVID-19 March Updates

The league executives hope you and your families are keeping well during these exceptional times and want to let you know that we are all in this together.

Due to a variety of factors that may be affecting league members and potential members, the league executives have decided not to apply the late fee after April 1st, keeping the membership rate at $200.

We are still planning for the season to start as scheduled on 10-May-20.

However, the city has advised us that “due to the COVID-19 virus, the City of Mississauga is taking proactive preventative measures in the best interest of protecting our community and staff. Effective Saturday March 14th, all Recreation facilities (community centres and arenas) were closed to the public, up to and including Sunday April 5th.” In light of this, the league executive has decided move the Team Rep Meeting out one week, to April 15th, and are looking at alternatives to holding an in-person meeting. Addition details about the Team Rep Meeting and season will be provided over the week of April 6th as the league executives continue to work with the city and more information becomes available.
